Helsinki Luotsinlinna

Helsinki's Luotsinlinna is one of Finland's most significant and historically valuable residential buildings in the Art Nouveau quarter of Katajanokka. Completed in 1898, the building, designed by Herman Gesellius, Armas Lindgren and Eliel Saarinen, has retained its appearance almost in its original form. The property, which was owned by the Church Board, has been renovated back into residential use in cooperation with the West Building and the Helsinki City Museum. The spacious apartments and detailed stairwells exude Art Nouveau architecture, and the loft apartment in the attic brings a new, modern layer to the building.
